Description: Cisco UCS extmgmt:ArpTargets:maxDeadlineTimeout managed object property

What is cucsExtmgmtArpTargetsMaxDeadlineTimeout?

This is the configured maximum time UCS will wait for ARP replies from the target addresses before declaring the management network path unreachable. This timeout directly controls how quickly a management-interface failover triggers when the network path goes bad, so a value set too short risks unnecessary failovers from transient network blips, while too long delays legitimate failover during a real outage. A maxDeadlineTimeout set to a few seconds means UCS will fail over the management interface within that window of losing ARP replies, rather than waiting much longer and delaying recovery.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-EXTMGMT-MIB::cucsExtmgmtArpTargetsMaxDeadlineTimeout

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.719.1.57.1.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-EXTMGMT-MIB::cucsExtmgmtArpTargetsMaxDeadlineTimeout.1
