Because SSG depends on AAA for authenticating and authorizing every new session, an unnoticed AAA outage silently blocks all new logins even while existing sessions keep running, so this trap turns that into an immediate, actionable alert instead of a slow trickle of login-failure complaints. An operator would enable cssgCfgAAAServerDownNotifEnabled so that if the RADIUS server stops responding overnight, the NOC gets paged immediately rather than discovering it the next morning from a spike in complaints.
