Description: Declares agent capability statements for the Cisco SIP User Agent MIB across various IOS and platform releases.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-SIP-UA-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-SIP-UA-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module declaring which features of CISCO-SIP-UA-MIB (Cisco's SIP User Agent management MIB for voice gateways) are implemented across various Cisco IOS releases and platforms. It belongs to Cisco's voice/SIP telephony feature area. Rather than exposing data itself, it enumerates supported object groups and compliance variations of the SIP UA MIB so management tools know which SIP-related counters and configuration objects a given device/release supports. As a capabilities statement it carries no monitorable runtime data — no call counters, register status, or hardware health metrics — its purpose is purely to describe SIP UA MIB feature support per platform/release. It is entirely dependent on and meaningless without CISCO-SIP-UA-MIB, the module it describes, and it is typically read by voice-network management systems during MIB capability discovery on Cisco IOS voice gateways and routers. Engineers can download the CISCO-SIP-UA-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-SIP-UA-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco IOS voice gateways and routers running SIP UA
Monitoring Examples
As an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, CISCO-SIP-UA-CAPABILITY defines no runtime data objects of its own (sample_objects is empty); it only maps supported OBJECT-GROUP and compliance clauses from CISCO-SIP-UA-MIB to specific IOS release/platform variations. There is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly, since an NMS uses this module once, during capability negotiation, to determine which SIP UA objects it can safely poll on a given device.
