An admin watching this gauge climb and stay elevated, rather than fluctuating and returning to a low baseline, can spot a flow where reads are backing up - a sign the target or the path is struggling to keep pace with the initiator's request rate. A steady climb to dozens of active reads on a flow that is normally near zero suggests the storage array or link is becoming a bottleneck for that specific host.
