Similar to Report LUNs, a healthy flow should show most Inquiry activity during initial device discovery, so an admin noticing this counter climbing steadily during normal operation should suspect the host's driver or multipath software is repeatedly re-querying device identity, often a symptom of path instability. Frequent Inquiry commands appearing alongside frequent Test Unit Ready commands on the same flow would reinforce a diagnosis of a host treating that specific path as unreliable.
