ciscoScsiFlowBufCount

Module: CISCO-SCSI-FLOW-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-SCSI-FLOW-MIB::ciscoScsiFlowBufCount

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.447.1.1.2.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Gauge

Access: read-write

Description: The value of this object is relevant only if the corresponding instance of ciscoScsiFlowWriteAcc has been set to 'true'. It specifies the number of buffers to be used for write-acceleration.

What is ciscoScsiFlowBufCount?

This object sets how many buffers are allocated for the write-acceleration feature on this flow, and per the desc the value is only meaningful when ciscoScsiFlowWriteAcc has actually been enabled for that flow. An admin tuning acceleration performance for a specific long-distance link increases this buffer count to allow more outstanding unacknowledged writes in flight, improving throughput on high-latency links at the cost of memory. A flow spanning a high-latency transcontinental FCIP tunnel might need a buffer count in the hundreds to keep the pipe full, whereas a short metro-distance flow might need only a handful.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.447.1.1.2.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-SCSI-FLOW-MIB::ciscoScsiFlowBufCount

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.447.1.1.2.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-SCSI-FLOW-MIB::ciscoScsiFlowBufCount.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.447.1.1.2.1.8.1 i <value>
