What Is CISCO-REPORT-INTERVAL-TC-MIB?

CISCO-REPORT-INTERVAL-TC-MIB is a Cisco textual-conventions module defining shared data types for configuring performance-history report-collection intervals, used by other Cisco MIBs that maintain interval-based performance data (e.g. bucketed 15-minute or 24-hour statistics). It doesn't itself expose live device data - it standardizes how a reporting interval and a rolling history of N such intervals are represented so consuming MIBs can define configurable performance-history tables consistently. A CISCO-REPORT-INTERVAL-TC-MIB reference is typically consulted by MIB developers rather than network operators, since its sole content is the shared reporting-interval type definitions other Cisco MIBs import. Because it is purely definitional, it plays only an indirect role in monitoring: it enables performance-monitoring MIBs (covering interface, voice, or system performance counters) to structure their historical data buckets consistently. It is a dependency of numerous other Cisco performance/history MIBs that import its textual-convention types. It is deployed conceptually wherever Cisco IOS/IOS-XE devices support configurable performance-interval history collection.

Alternatively, an implementation may specify variations in an agent capabilities. - If the definition of either of these objects specifies '0' as an acceptable value, then the descriptive text should describe the semantics of this value. - The descriptive text of xxxReportInterval must explain, 'When this value changes, the SNMP entity should discard any previously collected report interval data.' - The descriptive text of xxxReportMaxIntervals must explain, 'When this value changes to a value less than its current value, the SNMP entity should discard older report intervals to comply with the new value.'
