Category: Cisco Devices, Device Management

Description: Provides corrections to Cisco product OID assignments resolving conflicts in the Cisco enterprise product MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB-CORRECTIONS?

CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB-CORRECTIONS is a Cisco registration MIB that augments CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB by defining additional object identifiers assigned to specific hardware platforms, correcting or filling gaps in sysObjectID assignments. Rather than exposing operational or configuration data, it consists solely of OBJECT IDENTIFIER definitions (e.g., catalyst365024TS) used as the sysObjectID value a device reports to identify its exact hardware model. It has no monitoring role for hardware/software status -- it is purely an identity/registration module -- though correct sysObjectID values are what allow management systems to recognize a device's model and select the right MIBs/behavior for it. It directly augments CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB and depends on it for the overall OID tree structure into which these product identifiers are placed. It is used across Cisco's product line wherever a new hardware SKU (e.g., Catalyst 3650 variants) needs a registered sysObjectID, making this CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB-CORRECTIONS reference a quick lookup for identifying which OID corresponds to a given Catalyst platform.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-PRODUCTS-MIB-CORRECTIONS. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Catalyst 3650 series switches (various port-count/PoE/data-only variants)

Monitoring Examples

This module defines OBJECT IDENTIFIER assignments such as catalyst365024TS, catalyst365048TS, catalyst365024PS, catalyst365048PS, catalyst365024TD, and catalyst365048TD -- these are sysObjectID values, not runtime data, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; their only function is to let a management system identify that a given device is, for example, a Catalyst 3650-24TS versus a 3650-48PS.
