Category: Cisco Devices, Hardware and Environment, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares SNMP agent capability statements for the CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB implementation on Cisco CRS platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that documents the specific objects and features of the companion CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB actually supported by the SNMP agent on Cisco CRS (Carrier Routing System, codenamed "HFR") platforms. It contains no data objects of its own; instead, it declares which switch-fabric management objects (fabric plane status, fabric card/link state, etc., as defined in the base MIB) are implemented for a given software release. As a conformance statement it is not used to monitor hardware or software runtime status directly, but it underpins correct interpretation of the fabric monitoring data exposed by CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB on the actual device. It is entirely dependent on the CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB it describes. It is used by network management systems and Cisco engineering during SNMP agent conformance validation on Cisco CRS carrier routing platforms, not for live monitoring, making the CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB-CAPABILITY MIB a reference document rather than an operational monitoring tool.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco CRS (Carrier Routing System) platform

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only maps which fabric-related objects of CISCO-FABRIC-HFR-MIB are implemented by the CRS platform's SNMP agent for a given release.
