Description: The state of FSPF's 'neighbor state machine', which is the operational state of the interaction with the neighbor's interface which is connected to this interface.

If the 'fspfIfAdminStatus' is down(2), then this object should be down (1). If the 'fspfIfAdminStatus' is up (2) then this object should be take any of the possible values depending on the state of FSPF's 'neighbor state machine' on this interface on this VSAN.

What is fspfIfNbrState?

This reports the current state of FSPF's, Fibre Channel Shortest Path First, neighbor state machine for this interface -- the live operational status of the routing protocol relationship with whatever neighbor switch connects to this interface, and per the description this should read down(1) whenever fspfIfAdminStatus is down(2), only taking other values once the interface is administratively up. FSPF is the Fibre Channel fabric's equivalent of an IP routing protocol's neighbor adjacency, so this state is what confirms two connected FC switches have actually formed a working routing relationship over an inter-switch link, rather than merely having a physically connected and up link. An inter-switch link between two MDS switches showing a physical link up but this neighbor state stuck in an initializing or down state, while fspfIfAdminStatus reads up, would indicate the FSPF routing relationship itself has not come up, even though the underlying Fibre Channel link has.
