Domain IDs uniquely identify each switch within an FC fabric, so this object tells an admin exactly which specific switch, by its fabric-assigned identity, sits on the other end of this inter-switch link within that particular VSAN -- important in a multi-VSAN environment where the same physical link might carry different logical neighbor relationships per VSAN. An inter-switch link trunked to carry multiple VSANs might show a neighbor Domain ID of 5 for VSAN 10 but a completely different Domain ID for VSAN 20, since different switches can sit on the other end for each VSAN.
