Module: CISCO-CEF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-CEF-MIB::cefPrefixExternalNRHCPkts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.492.1.1.2.1.14

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: If CEF accounting is set to enable non-recursive accounting (value of cefCfgAccountingMap object in the cefCfgEntry is set to enable 'nonRecursive' accounting), then this object represents the number of non-recursive packets in the external bucket switched using this prefix.

This object is a 64-bit version of cefPrefixExternalNRPkts.

What is cefPrefixExternalNRHCPkts?

This is the 64-bit version of cefPrefixExternalNRPkts, avoiding counter wraparound for the external, recursively-resolved, non-recursive-accounting packet bucket on busy prefixes. As with its internal-bucket counterpart, this 64-bit counter becomes necessary specifically once a recursively-resolved prefix carries enough traffic that the 32-bit version would wrap within a typical monitoring interval. A heavily-used recursively-resolved transit prefix would need this 64-bit counter polled to reliably track its external-bucket packet volume over anything longer than a very short interval.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.492.1.1.2.1.14
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-CEF-MIB::cefPrefixExternalNRHCPkts

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.492.1.1.2.1.14.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-CEF-MIB::cefPrefixExternalNRHCPkts.1
