This matters specifically for MPLS VPN and inter-VRF routing scenarios, where a recursive next hop might need to be resolved in a different VRF than the one the original prefix belongs to, and this object is what reveals that cross-VRF resolution is happening. A customer VPN prefix whose recursive next hop is resolved via the global routing table rather than the customer's own VRF would show that global VRF's name here, revealing the cross-VRF recursion explicitly.
