Description: This object represent the connection id for the adjacency associated with this forwarding Element List.

The value of this object will be irrelevant and will be set to zero if the forwarding element list doesn't contain an adjacency forwarding element.

In cases where cefFESelectionAdjLinkType, interface and the next hop address are not able to uniquely define an adjacency entry (e.g. ATM and Frame Relay Bundles), this object is a unique identifier to differentiate between these adjacency entries.

What is cefFESelectionAdjConnId?

This reports a connection identifier used to uniquely distinguish an adjacency when link type, interface, and next-hop address alone are not sufficient to identify it, specifically called out for cases like ATM or Frame Relay where multiple virtual circuits can share those same three attributes. This object exists specifically because ATM/Frame Relay adjacencies can be genuinely ambiguous without it, so an admin troubleshooting forwarding over a multi-VC ATM or FR interface needs this connection ID to pin down exactly which virtual circuit a given adjacency actually uses. Two adjacencies over the same ATM interface to the same next hop but riding different PVCs would be distinguished from each other specifically by different values in this connection-ID object.
