ccmSmtpServerFailNotif

Module: CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB::ccmSmtpServerFailNotif

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.300.0.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A ccmSmtpServerFailNotif is sent if the device fails on sending an e-mail notification through an SMTP server in ccmSmtpServersTable.

For each SMTP server, an agent should not generate more than one ccmSmtpServerFailNotif 'notification-event' in a given time interval (ten seconds is the suggested default). A 'notification-event' is the transmission of a single trap or inform PDU to a list of notification destinations.

If within the throttling period, additional failures to send a message through same server occur, then notification-events for these failure should be suppressed by the agent until the current throttling period expires.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB::ccmSmtpServerFailNotif
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.300.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58564->[192.168.30.10]:162]:

  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB::ccmSmtpServerFailNotif
