Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for the Cisco WAAS application acceleration MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-CAPABILITY?

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, not a data-bearing MIB: it formally declares which feature groups of the companion CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-MIB (for Cisco WAAS WAN-optimization/application-acceleration appliances) a particular agent implementation supports. It contains no scalar or table objects that carry live operational data, so it does not fall into any runtime data category like interfaces, environment, or counters. It is not used to monitor hardware or software status directly; it exists purely so a management station can determine, during capability negotiation or MIB compilation, which parts of the real acceleration MIB a device implements. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the companion CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-MIB it describes. It is used by NMS platforms or MIB compilers when onboarding Cisco WAAS devices, consulting the CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-CAPABILITY MIB rather than polling it at runtime for operational data.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco WAAS application acceleration appliance

Monitoring Examples

This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module with no runtime data objects of its own, so no realistic polling/monitoring scenario applies here; it only lists which object groups of CISCO-APPLICATION-ACCELERATION-MIB are supported by a given agent implementation.
