Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for the Cisco AAA server MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-AAA-SERVER-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-AAA-SERVER-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which parts of the CISCO-AAA-SERVER-MIB a particular Cisco device's SNMP agent implements. It is not a data-bearing MIB itself; rather it maps agent/platform combinations to the specific object groups and variations of CISCO-AAA-SERVER-MIB that are supported. As such it has no monitoring role of its own for hardware or software status; it exists purely to inform NMS tooling and compliance checks about implementation coverage. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the CISCO-AAA-SERVER-MIB it describes. It is used internally by network management systems and MIB compilers during compliance verification, not for live device polling, and the CISCO-AAA-SERVER-CAPABILITY MIB is typically loaded into a compiler or NMS alongside the module it profiles.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-AAA-SERVER-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • vendor-neutral capability-declaration module (Cisco-specific), not a monitorable device class

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only asserts which CISCO-AAA-SERVER-MIB groups a given agent implementation supports.
