Description: The number of TACACS packets of unknown type which were received from this server on the authentication port.

What is cienaCesTacacsClientAuthenticationServerUnknownTypes?

This counts unrecognized-type packets received on the authentication port from this one specific server, isolating what could otherwise be a fleet-wide protocol mismatch down to a single appliance's TACACS+ software version. If this counter is nonzero only on the row for the most recently upgraded TACACS+ server, that strongly suggests the upgrade introduced a protocol feature the switch firmware doesn't yet support. For example, an admin could use this to justify holding off on upgrading the remaining servers until the switch firmware catches up.
