cienaCesOamErrFrameWindow
Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamErrFrameWindow
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.8.1.5
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Unsigned32
Access: read-only
Description: The amount of time (in 100ms increments) over which the threshold is defined. The default value is 10 (1 second).
If cienaCesOamErrFrameThreshold frame errors occur within a window of cienaCesOamErrFrameWindow seconds (measured in tenths of seconds), an Event Notification OAMPDU should be generated with an Errored Frame Event TLV indicating the threshold has been crossed in this window.
What is cienaCesOamErrFrameWindow?
This read-only Unsigned32 (10 to 600, in tenths of a second) defines the time window over which the errored-frame threshold is evaluated, per its description, defaulting to 10 tenths, i.e., one full second. Unlike the frame-count-based errFramePeriod window, this window is purely time-based, so its real-time duration doesn't change with link speed, making the errored-frame event a more speed-independent way to gauge a sustained rate of bit errors. An engineer comparing error-rate alarms across mixed-speed ports in the same chassis would find this time-based window more directly comparable across a 1G and a 10G port than the frame-count-based period window.
