cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsSummaryWindow

Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsSummaryWindow

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.8.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: The amount of time (in 100ms intervals) over which the threshold is defined. The default value is 100 (10 seconds).

If cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsSummaryThreshold frame errors occur within a window of cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsSummaryWindow (in tenths of seconds), an Event Notification OAMPDU should be generated with an Errored Frame Seconds Summary Event TLV indicating the threshold has been crossed in this window.

What is cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsSummaryWindow?

This read-only Integer32 (100 to 9000, in tenths of a second) defines the time window over which the errored-frame-seconds-summary threshold is evaluated, per its description, defaulting to 100 tenths, i.e., 10 seconds, a longer window than either the errFrame or errFramePeriod events, appropriate for a metric measured in whole 'errored seconds' rather than individual frame errors. This longer window makes the errored-frame-seconds-summary event a slower-moving, more strategic indicator of sustained link degradation rather than an immediate per-frame alarm. An engineer wanting to distinguish a brief transient glitch from a genuinely degrading link over roughly 10-second windows would rely on this event type rather than the faster errFrame or errFramePeriod events.
