Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsEvNotifEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.8.1.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates whether the occurrence of an Errored Frame Seconds Summary Event should result in an Event Notification OAMPDU generated by the OAM layer.

By default, this object should have the value enabled(1) for Ethernet like interfaces that support OAM. If the OAM layer does not support event notifications (as indicated via the cienaCesOamFunctionsSupported attribute), this value is ignored.

What is cienaCesOamErrFrameSecsEvNotifEnable?

This read-only INTEGER, enabled or disabled, gates whether an Errored Frame Seconds Summary Event generates an outbound Event Notification OAMPDU, per its description, defaulting to enabled(1) on OAM-capable interfaces. As with the other two notification-enable flags in this table, this lets the local device continue logging errored-seconds threshold crossings internally while optionally suppressing the peer-facing OAMPDU traffic that would otherwise accompany every occurrence. An engineer running OAM across a link shared with sensitive low-latency traffic might disable this notification flag specifically to avoid adding OAMPDU overhead during a known noisy period, without losing the local event log.
