Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamErrFramePeriodEvNotifEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.8.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates whether the occurrence of an Errored Frame Period Event should result in an Event Notification OAMPDU generated by the OAM layer.

By default, this object should have the value enabled(1) for Ethernet like interfaces that support OAM. If the OAM layer does not support event notifications (as indicated via the cienaCesOamFunctionsSupported attribute), this value is ignored.

What is cienaCesOamErrFramePeriodEvNotifEnable?

This read-only INTEGER, enabled or disabled, controls whether an Errored Frame Period Event actually results in an Event Notification OAMPDU being sent to the peer, per its description, defaulting to enabled(1) on interfaces that support OAM. This is the notification gate sitting downstream of the window and threshold settings, cienaCesOamErrFramePeriodWindow and cienaCesOamErrFramePeriodThreshold; even if the threshold is crossed, no OAMPDU goes out if this is disabled. An engineer who wants the underlying event logged locally but doesn't want to burden the peer link with notification traffic for this particular event type would disable this flag while leaving the threshold and window configured.
