cienaCesOamErrFrameEvNotifEnable
Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamErrFrameEvNotifEnable
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.8.1.7
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: Indicates whether the occurrence of an Errored Frame Event should result in an Event Notification OAMPDU generated by the OAM layer.
By default, this object should have the value enabled(1) for Ethernet like interfaces that support OAM. If the OAM layer does not support event notifications (as indicated via the cienaCesOamFunctionsSupported attribute), this value is ignored.
What is cienaCesOamErrFrameEvNotifEnable?
This read-only INTEGER, enabled or disabled, gates whether an Errored Frame Event actually generates an Event Notification OAMPDU to the peer, per its description, defaulting to enabled(1) on OAM-capable interfaces. Like its errFramePeriod counterpart, this sits downstream of cienaCesOamErrFrameWindow and cienaCesOamErrFrameThreshold, meaning the underlying threshold crossing can still be logged locally even if this flag suppresses the outbound notification to the peer. An engineer who wants local visibility into per-second errored-frame events without generating peer-visible OAMPDU traffic for every occurrence would disable this notification flag while leaving the threshold-crossing logging itself intact.
