Module: CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-OAM-MIB::cienaCesOamConfigRevision

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.5.1.1.4.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The configuration revision of the OAM entity as reflected in the latest OAMPDU sent by the OAM entity. The configuration revision is used by OAM entities to indicate configuration changes have occurred which might require the peer OAM entity to re-evaluate whether the peering is allowed. See local_satisfied in [802.3ah, 57.3.1.2].

What is cienaCesOamConfigRevision?

This read-only Unsigned32 tracks the OAM configuration revision this local entity most recently advertised in its own transmitted OAMPDUs, per its description, incrementing whenever a local configuration change occurs that might require the peer to re-evaluate whether its OAM peering with this device is still valid. Because the peer uses this value, compared against its own record of what it last saw, to decide whether to re-run parts of the discovery process, an unexpected jump in this value is a useful marker for correlating a peer-side OAM re-negotiation event with a local configuration change. An engineer seeing an unexplained OAM session reset on the peer's end would check whether this device's config revision changed around the same time.
