This protects against MAC-table exhaustion attacks but can also silently degrade a legitimate customer whose device count grows past the configured limit. A learn limit of 100 on a customer's virtual switch that unexpectedly starts flooding traffic to a new device once the customer adds their 101st networked device illustrates the risk.
