Module: CIENA-CES-DATAPLANE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-DATAPLANE-MIB::cienaCesDpTsMeterFloodContainerProfileUnknownUnicastRateId

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Description: This object specifies the RateId to use for the unknown unicast

traffic. Traffic is allowed untouched upto this RateId (Rate1,

Rate2 or Rate3) and dropped when exceeded.

What is cienaCesDpTsMeterFloodContainerProfileUnknownUnicastRateId?

This INTEGER (noLimit/rateId1/rateId2/rateId3) maps unknown-unicast flood traffic specifically to one of the three configured rate tiers, or leaves it uncapped. Since unknown-unicast floods are often the byproduct of asymmetric routing or MAC-table misses rather than an actual attack, an admin can choose to leave this category uncapped while still tightly containing broadcast storms via a different mapping. Setting this to rateId2, for example, means unknown-unicast traffic on this port is capped at whatever kbps Rate2 is configured to.
