Module: CIENA-CES-CFM-MIB
OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-CFM-MIB::cienaCesCfmSyntheticLossSessionSdClearThreshold
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.4.1.12.1.1.29
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Integer32
Access: read-only
Description: This object represents the signal degrade clear threshold value for the synthetic loss measurement test. A value of 0 or greater is compared to the frame loss result and a fault is cleared, if loss is equal to or below this threshold. A value of -1 disables the generation of signal degrade fault notification This object works in conjunction with cienaCesCfmSyntheticLossSessionSdSetThreshold. If one object is given non-default value, other should be also set to non-default value.
What is cienaCesCfmSyntheticLossSessionSdClearThreshold?
This sets the loss level at or below which a previously declared signal-degrade condition for this session will be cleared, working as the release valve paired with the set-threshold above it; together they implement hysteresis so a service does not flap rapidly between degraded and clear states if its loss is bouncing right around a single threshold value. Configuring the clear threshold lower than the set threshold, for example set at 10 and clear at 5, means loss has to drop meaningfully below the level that triggered the degrade warning before that warning is lifted, which is the intended behavior per the description's note that these two objects should be configured together.
