Description: This MIB object indicates the sender ID TLV Type.

What is cienaCesCfmServiceTlvSenderIdType?

This selects what identifying information a MEP includes in the optional Sender ID TLV of its CCM frames, choosing between none, the chassis ID, a management address, or both chassis and management identifiers combined. An admin sets this to help remote operators or NMS tools identify exactly which physical device and management context a CCM originated from, which is especially useful across multi-vendor or multi-operator maintenance domains where a bare MEP ID alone isn't enough to locate the source device. For example, setting cienaCesCfmServiceTlvSenderIdType to chassisManage(4) would embed both the chassis identifier and a management IP address in every CCM from this service's MEPs, letting a downstream troubleshooting tool immediately trace a received CCM back to a specific device and its management address.
