What is cienaCesCfmServiceNumActiveMEP?
This Counter32 reports how many of the MEPs under this CFM service are currently active (as opposed to held-down, disabled, or otherwise inactive), narrowing the total MEP count down to only those genuinely participating in fault detection right now. An admin compares this against the total MEP count (cienaCesCfmServiceNumMEP) to spot MEPs that exist in configuration but aren't actually contributing to monitoring, perhaps because they're stuck in the hold-time state after a recent flap. For example, cienaCesCfmServiceNumMEP reading 4 while cienaCesCfmServiceNumActiveMEP reads only 3 would tell the admin one configured MEP on this service isn't currently active and needs investigating.
