Description: This object indicates the type of MEP L2 transform. no-op(1) type indicates that there is no MEP level transform. auto(2) type indicates that the MEP inherits the sub-port vtag-stack.

What is cienaCesCfmMEPL2XformType?

This reports the Layer 2 transform type applied at this MEP, either no-op, meaning no MEP-level VLAN tag transform occurs, or auto, meaning the MEP inherits the sub-port's vtag-stack (VLAN tag structure) automatically, as explicitly defined in the object's own description. An admin uses this to understand whether this MEP's frames pass through with the sub-port's tagging unchanged (auto) or get no additional tag manipulation at the MEP level at all (no-op), which matters when diagnosing a VLAN-tag mismatch between a MEP and the CCMs it's exchanging with a peer. For example, a MEP configured with cienaCesCfmMEPL2XformType = auto would automatically carry whatever VLAN tag stack its sub-port uses, so changing that sub-port's tagging later would transparently change this MEP's tag structure too without a separate MEP-level reconfiguration.
