This is the chassis-wide count of every CFM frame the device has received across all maintenance associations, mirroring the total-transmitted counter on the receive side. Because remote MEPs continuously send CCMs at their configured interval, this number should climb steadily in step with the number of remote peers and their CCM rate; a plateau or drop usually means CFM traffic from one or more remote endpoints has stopped arriving. Comparing this counter's growth rate against the expected combined CCM rate from all configured remote MEPs, for example 20 remote MEPs each sending once a second adding roughly 20 per second, is a quick sanity check that the fault-detection mesh is intact.
