Description: The number of linktrace messages received with an invalid first TLV offset.

What is cienaCesCfmGlobalLinkTraceStatsRxLTMInvalidFirstTLVOffset?

This applies the same first-TLV-offset structural check used for CCMs and LBMs to incoming Linktrace Messages, counting LTMs this device received whose TLV-start pointer did not match the frame's real layout. Because an LTM's TLV data carries fields like the target MAC address and TTL that this device needs to correctly relay or reply to the trace, a malformed offset here means this device may be unable to properly service that particular linktrace hop request. If one remote device's linktrace tool consistently trips this counter on this device while other tools' LTMs parse fine, the problem is isolated to that one tool's LTM encoding.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.4.1.1.6.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-CFM-MIB::cienaCesCfmGlobalLinkTraceStatsRxLTMInvalidFirstTLVOffset

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.3.4.1.1.6.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-CFM-MIB::cienaCesCfmGlobalLinkTraceStatsRxLTMInvalidFirstTLVOffset.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cienaCesCfmGlobalLinkTraceStatsRxLTMInvalidFirstTLVOffset.1
