This is the running total of Continuity Check Messages transmitted by this device across every configured MEP, the periodic heartbeat frames that let remote MEPs detect if this device has failed or the path to it has broken. Its growth rate should match the sum of one divided by the CCM interval across all locally configured MEPs, so ten MEPs each sending once a second should add roughly ten to this counter every second regardless of how many services those MEPs belong to. A rate lower than that math predicts points to one or more MEPs that have stopped transmitting CCMs even though this global counter still looks healthy overall.
