Module: CIENA-CES-BENCHMARK-MIB

OID (symbolic): CIENA-CES-BENCHMARK-MIB::cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.39.1.1.14.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter64

Access: read-only

Description: Total number of received packets for this test instance.

What is cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts?

This Counter64 tallies every packet received back by the test instance's receive side, regardless of protocol, and is the top-level receive count that all the more specific IPv4/IPv6/non-IP counters below it should sum up to. An admin cross-checks this total against the known transmit count (cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsTxPkts) to compute overall frame loss for the test rather than relying only on the built-in frameloss result field. For example, if 10,000,000 packets were transmitted but cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts only reads 9,998,500, that gap of 1,500 packets is the raw loss the test experienced.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.39.1.1.14.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-BENCHMARK-MIB::cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.1271.2.1.39.1.1.14.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CIENA-CES-BENCHMARK-MIB::cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cienaCesBenchmarkTestInstanceStatsRxPkts.1
