chipPing

Module: CHIPCOMMIB

OID (symbolic): CHIPCOMMIB::chipPing

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.49.0.13

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: A chipPing trap is sent after the SNMP initiated PING command is completed. After the last echo request packet is sent, this trap is sent indicating the ping address, the number of requests sent, and the number of responses received at the time the trap was generated.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' CHIPCOMMIB::chipPing
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.49.0.13

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
