Description: Defines product OID registrations and system identity for Avaya/Lucent Cajun P-series stackable and modular switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CAJUN-SWITCH-PRODUCTS-MIB?

CAJUN-SWITCH-PRODUCTS-MIB is an enterprise identity/registration MIB from the Cajun switch line (originally Development, later Lucent/Avaya) that defines the top-level product OID architecture for the P-series stackable and modular switch family, including the P220, P550, and P880 models. It is not a data-carrying MIB in the traditional sense, it contains only the OID tree (products, mibs, cajunSwitch, cajunSwitchProduct, and per-model sub-branches like cajunL2P550/cajunL3P550) used by sysObjectID and by other Cajun MIBs to identify exact hardware models and their Layer 2/Layer 3 variants. Its practical monitoring use is limited to hardware identification, letting management software determine precisely which Cajun switch model and Layer 2/Layer 3 configuration is polled, rather than exposing performance or environmental status itself. Actual runtime monitoring (interfaces, environment, faults) is expected to come from separate Cajun switch MIBs that reference this product tree. It is deployed wherever legacy Lucent/Avaya Cajun P-series switches are present in a managed network. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CAJUN-SWITCH-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CAJUN-SWITCH-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Lucent/Avaya Cajun P-series switch (P220/P550/P880)

Monitoring Examples

This module is purely a product/OID registration tree rather than a source of pollable runtime data, so there is no realistic live-monitoring scenario to describe honestly beyond management software reading sysObjectID and matching it against branches like cajunL2P550 or cajunL3P550 to identify the exact switch model and Layer 2/Layer 3 variant in use.
