Description: Start updating the firmware of the specified target module. Note 1: Depending on the target, it might take up to several minutes for the flash update to complete. Do not reset the target until the control has been returned. At this point, the results will be displayed. Note 2 : Use firmwareUpdateStatus to confirm the status of the last firmware update initiated by SNMP method. The Management Module must be restarted for the new firmware to take affect.

NOTE: Value returned for the GET command is meaningless for this MIB.

What is firmwareUpdateStart?

Setting this to execute(1) begins the firmware update of the module selected in firmwareUpdateTarget, using the server and file configured in firmwareUpdateTftpServer/firmwareUpdateFileName. The update can take several minutes; the DESCRIPTION warns not to reset the target until control returns, to check firmwareUpdateStatus for the outcome, and that a GET on this object itself returns no meaningful value.
