What Is BENU-PLATFORM-SERVICE-MIB?

BENU-PLATFORM-SERVICE-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Benu Networks covering internal platform services running on Benu's broadband gateway platforms. It defines objects representing the enterprise's platform-level service processes, letting a management system see which services exist and how they are structured within the Benu software architecture. Its central monitoring purpose is software/process health: checking whether critical platform services are running, stopped, or faulted, serving as an early warning for software-level failures distinct from hardware faults. As a Benu-proprietary enterprise MIB it is typically used alongside other Benu platform and chassis MIBs rather than public standards. It is deployed in broadband access/gateway environments where Benu Networks software components must stay running reliably for subscriber service continuity. Engineers can download the BENU-PLATFORM-SERVICE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BENU-PLATFORM-SERVICE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • platform service process status
  • service operational state

Supported Devices

  • Benu Networks broadband gateway platform

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module, so specific object/table names cannot be cited; consistent with its stated purpose, an operator would poll per-service status objects to confirm each platform service process is in a running/operational state. A service reporting a stopped or failed state would flag a software component outage likely affecting subscriber service delivery.
