Description: Manages Allied Telesis VCStack virtual chassis stacking, reporting member switch roles, VCStack IDs, and link health.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AT-VCSTACK-MIB?

AT-VCSTACK-MIB is an Allied Telesis private MIB for VCStack, the virtual chassis stacking feature in AlliedWare Plus that lets multiple physical switches operate as one logical device. It would expose per-member data such as stack member role (master, backup, member), VCStack member ID, and stack link/ring health. This is fundamentally a hardware-status MIB for high-availability stacking: it lets an operator confirm all expected members are present, identify which unit currently holds the master role, and detect a degraded or broken stack interconnect link before it causes a stack split or failover. It is specific to Allied Telesis's proprietary stacking architecture rather than an IETF standard. It is deployed wherever AlliedWare Plus switches are configured in a VCStack for resiliency and simplified management. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the AT-VCSTACK-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-VCSTACK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis stackable switch (VCStack)

Monitoring Examples

No concrete object names were supplied for this MIB. Conceptually, an admin would poll a stack member table to confirm the expected number of members are present, check each member's role to confirm exactly one master exists, and monitor stack link status to catch a member that has silently dropped off the stack ring.

What Can Be Monitored

  • stack member role
  • member ID/presence
  • stack link/ring health
