All MIBs › AT-DHCP-MIB
Organization: Allied Telesis, Inc
Last Updated: 2009-04-01
Category: IP and Core Protocols, Vendor: Allied Telesis
Description: Manages DHCP server address pools, lease bindings, and statistics on Allied Telesis routers and layer-3 switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is AT-DHCP-MIB?
AT-DHCP-MIB manages DHCP server address pools, lease bindings, and pool statistics on Allied Telesis routers and layer-3 switches acting as DHCP servers. It exposes configuration for address ranges and gateways, plus counters for pool exhaustion and exceeded-range events. Its monitoring value is centered on software service health: tracking how many clients have exceeded a range, how many addresses remain, and whether a pool has become exhausted, which reveals a DHCP service on the verge of failing to lease addresses to new clients. It is a self-contained Allied Telesis enterprise MIB, conceptually parallel to but not directly dependent on any formal IETF DHCP MIB. It is deployed on Allied Telesis routers/switches serving as the DHCP server for branch or campus LAN segments. Engineers can download the AT-DHCP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AT-DHCP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Allied Telesis routers
- Allied Telesis layer-3 switches
Monitoring Examples
The module defines dhcpRangeTable/dhcpRangeEntry with dhcpRangeBaseAddress, dhcpRangeNumberOfAddresses, and dhcpRangeGateway, alongside dhcpRangeExceededRange, dhcpRangeExceededClients, and dhcpRangeExceededRemaining. An administrator would poll dhcpRangeExceededClients and dhcpRangeExceededRemaining to detect an address pool approaching exhaustion before new clients start failing to obtain a lease, and watch dhcpTraps for exhaustion notifications tied to a specific dhcpRangeName.
What Can Be Monitored
- DHCP address range configuration
- pool exhaustion status
- exceeded-range/client counts
- remaining available addresses
- gateway assignment per range
