All MIBs › ASCEND-MIBATMNBASE-MIB
Category: ATM, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent
Description: Provides base ATM management objects for Ascend ATM network interfaces and connections.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASCEND-MIBATMNBASE-MIB?
This proprietary Ascend Communications MIB provides the base set of ATM management objects for Ascend ATM network interfaces and connections, forming the foundational layer for the vendor's other ATM MIBs. It exposes core configuration and status data for ATM physical/logical interfaces and virtual connections on Ascend ATM equipment. It supports hardware/software status monitoring by exposing base interface and connection state, letting an operator confirm ATM interfaces are up and connections are established, which is the first place to look when troubleshooting ATM connectivity problems. It underpins the more specialized Ascend ATM MIBs (signaling, QoS, internal network) that build on this base object set, and reflects general ATM Forum interface/connection concepts. It was deployed on legacy Ascend/Lucent ATM switching and access equipment in carrier and enterprise ATM networks, where the ASCEND-MIBATMNBASE-MIB MIB served as the base ATM management interface.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBATMNBASE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- legacy Ascend ATM switch/access equipment
Monitoring Examples
No specific object or table names were included in the sampled instrumentation for this module, so a concrete polling example can't be tied to real OIDs; in general, an operator would check base ATM interface and connection status objects to confirm interfaces are operationally up and virtual connections are established, investigating any interface reporting down or a connection failing to come up.
What Can Be Monitored
- ATM interface operational status
- ATM virtual connection state
- base ATM configuration parameters
