Description: Altiga (Cisco VPN 3000) capabilities MIB defining the root OID and supported feature capability registrations.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ALTIGA-CAP?

ALTIGA-CAP is a MIB from Altiga Networks (acquired by Cisco and rebranded as the Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator series) that defines the root object identifier and capability/feature registration point for the Altiga MIB tree. Rather than exposing runtime data itself, it establishes the naming hierarchy under which other Altiga MIBs (such as version, statistics, and load-balancing MIBs) register their objects and capabilities. As a root/capabilities definition module it has no direct hardware or software status objects of its own to poll for uptime, temperature, or similar metrics. It provides the structural foundation referenced by other Altiga-specific MIBs (e.g., ALTIGA-VERSION-STATS-MIB, ALTIGA-LBSSF-STATS-MIB) covering capability areas such as DHCP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, ICMP, IP, and L2TP per its acronym list. It's typically deployed alongside other Altiga MIBs on Altiga/Cisco VPN 3000 series VPN concentrators. Engineers can download the ALTIGA-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALTIGA-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Altiga Networks / Cisco VPN 3000 series VPN concentrators

Monitoring Examples

This module defines no runtime data objects in the provided sample; it functions as a capability/OID-registration root rather than a monitoring module, so no concrete polling scenario applies here. Real device monitoring on an Altiga/Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator instead uses sibling MIBs like ALTIGA-VERSION-STATS-MIB or ALTIGA-LBSSF-STATS-MIB, whose objects are rooted under the hierarchy this MIB establishes.
