Description: The value of tmnxSonetHoldTimeUp is used to configure the hold-timer for link up event dampening. This guards against reporting excessive interface transitions. This is implemented by not advertising subsequent transitions of the interface to upper layer protocols until the configured timer has expired. A value of zero (0) indicates that an up transition is reported immediately.
What is tmnxSonetHoldTimeUp?
Configures the hold-down timer (in milliseconds) for dampening link-up events on this SONET interface, preventing upper-layer protocols from being notified of rapid repeated transitions back to the up state. This reduces the instability caused by a flapping interface.
