tmnxPortEtherMTU

Module: ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-PORT-MIB::tmnxPortEtherMTU

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.2.4.4.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The size of the largest packet which can be sent/received on the Ethernet physical interface, specified in octets. For interfaces that are used for transmitting network datagrams, this is the size of the largest network datagram that can be sent on the interface.

Setting tmnxPortEtherMTU to a value of zero (0), causes the agent to recalculate the default MTU size which can vary based on the current setting of tmnxPortMode and tmnxPortEncapType variables. Some typical default values are: 1514 with mode access and encap-type null 1518 with mode access and encap-type dot1q 1518 with mode access and encap-type mpls 9198 with mode network

What is tmnxPortEtherMTU?

Configures the Maximum Transmission Unit size in bytes for the Ethernet physical interface, defining the largest packet that can be sent or received. Setting an appropriate MTU is important for avoiding fragmentation on the network path.
