Module: ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-CHASSIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): ALCATEL-IND1-TIMETRA-CHASSIS-MIB::tmnxChassisOperMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.2.1.3.1.20

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TmnxChassisMode

Access: read-only

Description: The value of tmnxChassisOperMode indicates the operational scaling and feature set for the IOM cards in the chassis. Changing the value of tmnxChassisAdminMode from 'modeB' to 'modeA' (downgrade) will result in tmnxChassisAdminMode indicating 'modeA' while tmnxChassisOperMode indicates 'modeB' untill the configuration is saved and the system rebooted, at which point, the actual downgrade will take effect.

Changing the value of tmnxChassisAdminMode from 'modeC' to either 'modeB' (downgrade) or 'modeA' (downgrade) will result in tmnxChassisAdminMode indicating 'modeB' or 'modeA' respectively while tmnxChassisOperMode indicates 'modeC' untill the configuration is saved and the system rebooted, at which point, the actual downgrade will take effect.

'modeB' scaling and feature sets cannot be supported on the iom-20g card. 'modeC' scaling feature set cannot be supported on either on the iom-20g or the iom-20g-b.

What is tmnxChassisOperMode?

This read-only object indicates the actual operational scaling mode (such as modeA or modeB) that the Alcatel 7x50 chassis is currently running, which determines how many line interface modules can be supported and what feature set is available. The mode affects system capacity and performance characteristics, and may differ from the administratively configured mode during mode transitions or reboots. An operator would check this to confirm the chassis is running in the intended configuration after software updates or mode changes.
