Description:
The value of tmnxCardNamedPoolAdminMode specifies whether or not an IOM is provisioned for the configuration of named pools. If the value of tmnxCardNamedPoolAdminMode is 'inService(2)', the system will change the way default pools are created and allow for the creation of MDA and port level named buffer pools. If the value of tmnxCardNamedPoolAdminMode is 'outOfService(3)', the system will not create per port pools, instead a default network and access pool is created for ingress and egress and is shared by queues on all ports. This object is used in conjunction with tmnxCardNamedPoolOperMode.
What is tmnxCardNamedPoolAdminMode?
This configurable parameter controls whether an IOM (Input/Output Module) card is provisioned to use named buffer pools instead of default shared pools for traffic management. When set to inService, the system creates individual MDA and port-level buffer pools; when outOfService, it uses a single default pool shared across all ports. An operator would configure this setting to fine-tune per-port buffer allocation and QoS behavior on Nokia SR OS platforms.
