Category: Telephony and VoIP, Vendor: AudioCodes

Description: Monitors SS7 signaling performance on AudioCodes gateway SS7 interface cards, providing MTP and ISUP message throughput and error rate counters.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AC-PM-SS7-MIB?

AC-PM-SS7-MIB is a vendor performance-monitoring MIB from AudioCodes covering SS7 (Signaling System 7) signaling elements on gateway platforms equipped with SS7 interface cards, structured into a configuration subtree (interval period and per-table thresholds) and a data subtree of monitored performance counters. It exposes SS7 performance categories such as MTP (Message Transfer Part) and ISUP (ISDN User Part) message throughput and error-rate statistics over configurable polling intervals. This MIB is used to monitor signaling-link software/hardware performance: rising MTP error rates or falling ISUP message throughput on a link reveals a degrading SS7 signaling link or an overloaded SS7 card before call setup failures become widespread. Like its ATM counterpart, it documents a -1 sentinel value across the MIB meaning the requested statistic is unsupported or the interval hasn't yet been recorded. It is deployed on AudioCodes gateways with SS7 signaling cards in carrier or PSTN-interconnect environments where signaling-link quality directly affects call completion rates, and engineers can download the AC-PM-SS7-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AC-PM-SS7-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AudioCodes gateway (SS7 signaling card)

Monitoring Examples

No concrete sample objects were supplied for this module, so specific table/object names cannot be grounded; conceptually an administrator would poll interval-based MTP/ISUP throughput and error-rate counters from the data subtree, treating the documented -1 sentinel as 'unsupported or not yet recorded' rather than a real zero, but naming exact objects here would be speculative.
