Category: Telephony and VoIP, Vendor: AudioCodes

Description: Monitors performance of media server resources on AudioCodes platforms, providing capacity and utilization counters for announcement and conferencing functions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AC-PM-MEDIASERVER-MIB?

AC-PM-MediaServer MIB is an AudioCodes performance-monitoring module dedicated to the media-server functional elements of AudioCodes devices, split into a Configuration subtree (measurement interval length and per-table thresholds) and a Data subtree (the monitored tables themselves). It exposes counters for announcement-playback and conferencing-related media server functions, tracking utilization of these resources over the configured interval. This makes it directly useful for monitoring the software/service health of the media-server component: administrators can see whether announcement or conferencing resources are being exhausted or approaching configured thresholds, an early sign of degraded call handling. It shares its interval/threshold configuration model with the related AC-PM-SYSTEM-MIB and AC-PERF-MEDIA-SERVICES-MIB, part of the same AudioCodes performance MIB family. It is deployed on AudioCodes media server platforms delivering announcements and conferencing within a larger VoIP solution. Engineers can download the AC-PM-MEDIASERVER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AC-PM-MEDIASERVER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AudioCodes media server

Monitoring Examples

An operator sets the measurement interval length in the Configuration subtree, then polls the Data subtree tables to see per-interval usage of announcement and conferencing resources; a value of -1 in a counter means that interval simply hasn't completed and should be ignored rather than treated as zero usage. If a monitored resource count in the Data subtree repeatedly hits its configured threshold, that flags the media server running near capacity and at risk of rejecting new announcement or conference requests.

What Can Be Monitored

  • announcement resource utilization
  • conferencing resource utilization
  • measurement interval configuration
  • per-table threshold settings
