What Is AC-PERF-MEDIA-SERVICES-MIB?

AC-PERF-MEDIA-SERVICES-MIB is an AudioCodes performance MIB reporting usage statistics for the media-processing services on AudioCodes voice gateways/media servers, organized into four subtrees: acPerfIvr, acPerfBct, acPerfConf, and acPerfTt. It exposes performance counters covering IVR (interactive voice response) session activity, BCT (call transfer) usage, conferencing resource consumption, and test-trunk loopback activity. As a performance/capacity MIB it is used to monitor software service load on the device — for example, how heavily the IVR or conferencing engine is being used relative to its provisioned capacity — flagging resource exhaustion before calls start failing. It complements AC-PM-MEDIASERVER-MIB and AC-PM-SYSTEM-MIB, which cover media-server-specific and system-wide performance respectively, forming AudioCodes' layered performance MIB family. It is deployed on AudioCodes Mediant Server/media gateway platforms hosting IVR, conferencing, and call-transfer applications. Engineers can download the AC-PERF-MEDIA-SERVICES-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AC-PERF-MEDIA-SERVICES-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • AudioCodes media gateway/media server (Mediant Server)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls the acPerfConf subtree to track how many conference resources are concurrently in use versus DSP capacity, and checks acPerfIvr counters for IVR session counts and completion/failure rates. A steady rise in acPerfBct transfer-failure counters, or acPerfConf usage sitting at full capacity, indicates the media server is nearing its resource limit and new calls will start being rejected. As noted in the module description, a value of -1 anywhere in the MIB means the requested interval hasn't been recorded yet and must not be read as a real zero.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IVR session activity
  • call transfer (BCT) usage
  • conferencing resource utilization
  • test trunk loopback activity
  • media service capacity versus usage
