What Is ZYXEL-CPU-PROTECTION-MIB?
ZYXEL-CPU-PROTECTION-MIB is a ZyXEL Enterprise Solution proprietary MIB implementing CPU protection, a feature that rate-limits specific classes of control-plane traffic per port to prevent a flood from overwhelming the switch CPU. Its table, keyed by port, records the reason type (the traffic class being protected against — e.g., broadcast, multicast, ARP) and the configured rate limit. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm CPU-protection rate limits are tuned correctly for a given port's expected traffic mix. It is deployed on ZyXEL Enterprise Solution managed switches. Engineers can download the ZYXEL-CPU-PROTECTION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
